RockHounds return home for six-game series against Frisco

The Midland RockHounds return to Momentum Bank Ballpark this week for a six-game homestand against the Frisco RoughRiders beginning Tuesday, May 12, and continuing through Sunday, May 17.

Midland enters the week atop the Texas League South Division standings with a 20-13 record, holding a 3.5-game lead over Frisco and the Amarillo Sod Poodles, who are both 16-16.

The RockHounds return home following a competitive road series against the San Antonio Missions, where several players continued to contribute on both sides of the ball.

Pitcher Wei-En Lin recorded 10 strikeouts in Thursday’s win, while outfielder Cameron Leary continued to make an impact on the basepaths. Infielder Josh Kuroda-Grauer remained productive at the plate throughout the series.

Kuroda-Grauer leads Midland in batting average at .285, while Leary follows at .275 and Leo De Vries is hitting .266. Kuroda-Grauer also leads the club in home runs with six and RBIs with 18.

Leary leads the team with 16 stolen bases, followed by Kuroda-Grauer with 11 and De Vries with 10.

Texas League South standings entering the homestand are Midland (20-13), Amarillo (16-16), Frisco (16-16), Corpus Christi Hooks (15-18) and San Antonio (11-22).

The upcoming homestand includes Education Day on Tuesday morning, Hawaiian Weekend beginning Friday, postgame fireworks Saturday and Family Sunday on May 17.

Media interviews with players and coaches will begin Wednesday, May 13, according to the club. Pre-game interviews for night games are scheduled for 2 p.m., while no pre-game interviews will be available for day games.
