Six student-athletes from Legacy High School signed National Letters of Intent on May 13 to continue their academic and athletic careers at colleges and universities across the country, according to Midland Independent School District.

The signing ceremony recognized students from football, baseball, track and field, and cheer who committed to compete at the collegiate level. Family members, teammates, coaches and school administrators attended the event honoring the athletes’ accomplishments.

“We are extremely proud of these student-athletes for their commitment to play at the next level,” said Amanda Lopez, Midland ISD Director of Athletics. “We have enjoyed watching and cheering on these student-athletes throughout their time at LHS and wish them the best as they move forward to their next chapter.”

Midland ISD Executive Director of Athletics Wes Torres said the signings reflect years of dedication both on and off the field.

“Signing to compete at the collegiate level represents years of commitment not only in competition but also in the classroom,” Torres said.

The following Legacy High School students signed letters of intent during the ceremony:

  • Evis Bobey, football — University of Texas Permian Basin
  • Ben Cano, football — Wayland Baptist University
  • Masseye Diop, track and field — University of Houston
  • Cisco Rodriguez, baseball — Cisco College
  • Harlem Brown, football — Sul Ross State University
  • Kambri Bradley, cheer — Angelo State University

District officials said the signing ceremony was part of Midland ISD’s ongoing efforts to recognize student achievement in academics and athletics as seniors prepare for postsecondary opportunities.
