AutoZone is proceeding with a significant expansion of its store located at 2400 West Michigan Ave. The project, which involves an investment of nearly $1.9 million, was recently detailed in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

According to the filing, the initiative, named AutoZone #1346 Expansion, plans for a 16,120-square-foot addition to the existing 16,833-square-foot facility. This development will effectively double the size of the auto parts store. Construction is slated to commence on February 9, 2026, with completion anticipated by August 21, 2026. The expansion is privately funded and intended for private commercial use.

Helt Design from Belmont, North Carolina has been designated as the project’s design firm. Jeffery L. Kelley from Allen will oversee accessibility review services.

The company behind the auto parts store is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. This expansion reflects AutoZone’s ongoing commitment to investing in the West Texas market as it seeks to enhance its service capacity and regional presence.
