Bass Pro Shops is set to open its newest Texas location in Odessa with a Grand Opening celebration on Wednesday, October 29, featuring an Evening for Conservation open to the public.
According to a news release, festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with live entertainment from singer-songwriter Austin Brown, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. and the official store opening. Located between Yukon Road and Mission Boulevard along State Highway 191 in Midland County, the new 100,000-square-foot retail destination will serve outdoor enthusiasts across the Permian Basin. It marks the 18th Bass Pro Shops location in Texas, offering a wide selection of premier fishing, hunting, and outdoor gear, along with the company’s hallmark friendly, expert service.
The Evening for Conservation is a tradition started by company founder Johnny Morris. The event will donate 15 percent of sales (on most items) to local conservation organizations. It will also feature appearances by outdoor and conservation leaders, family-friendly activities, and giveaways throughout the grand opening weekend.
Founded in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri, Bass Pro Shops has grown from a small shop inside Morris’s father’s liquor store to one of North America’s premier outdoor retailers. The company serves 250 million customers annually across the U.S. and Canada and has earned multiple honors from Newsweek, including “America’s Most Trusted Outdoor Retailer” and “Most Admired Workplaces.”
