Mayor Lori Blong participated in the first day of the early voting phase for the state primary elections Tuesday.
Blong cast her ballot at the Cogdell Learning Center at Midland College and said she encountered no lines. According to a Facebook post shared by the mayor, “the primary ballot includes state and local races that are consequential to the community… I encourage everyone to make a plan and take the time to vote.”
Early voting is ongoing until Feb. 27. In addition to Cogdell Learning Center, ballots are also set up at Centennial Library located at 2503 W. Loop 250 N., the Midland County Elections Office at 2110 N. A St., Suite 103, The Village at Manor Park at 5212 Sinclair Ave., and United Supermarket, according to county election information.
Election Day for the primaries is March 3. Voters are not required to present their registration card to vote due to statewide delays in mailing voter registration certificates, according to Midland County government. Acceptable forms of photo identification include a Texas driver’s license, a Texas election identification certificate, or a U.S. passport.
Blong encouraged residents to participate in early voting and highlighted the importance of making a plan ahead of Election Day.
