The Bush Family Home State Historic Site will continue its monthly online education series through October, offering virtual programs that explore 1950s culture and the years the Bush family lived in Midland.
Held on the last Wednesday of each month from February through October, the online series is hosted by educator Erin Frigo and focuses on everyday aspects of life during the decade. Past programs have examined topics such as Roy Rogers Rider’s Rules, midcentury household technology, and popular games and toys of the 1950s.
This year’s theme centers on 1950s fashion, highlighting clothing styles and trends that reflected the social norms of the era. The series aims to connect broader historical themes with the lived experiences of families during the postwar period.
Programs are streamed via Facebook Live on the Bush Family Home’s Facebook page and are also available through Zoom with advance registration. Viewers can access the Facebook stream at facebook.com/bushfamilyhome.
Upcoming dates for the series include Feb. 25, March 25, April 29, May 27, June 29, Aug. 26, Sept. 30 and Oct. 28. The Bush Family Home does not host the online series in November and December due to the holiday season.
