Bynum School will host Family Fun Fest at its campus, 5100 Avalon Dr., on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The private nonprofit institution, which caters to students with special needs, announced in a Facebook post that tickets for the event are now available for purchase and sponsorship opportunities are open. “This is always a joyful day that brings families together while supporting the incredible students we serve at Bynum School,” it said.
According to the school, tickets are priced at $5 and grant access to an unlimited number of activities. These can be acquired through the school’s website or directly at the event entrance. Additionally, food trucks will be present, offering items for an extra charge.
Bynum School was established in the early 1980s by three families seeking improved educational prospects for their children with special needs. They consulted Kay Bynum, after whom the school is named. Originally called the Developmental Disabilities Center, it adopted its current name in 1992 following a Certificate of Amendment issued by the state of Texas. Presently, Bynum School has an enrollment of at least 100 students.
