The Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District (MOUTD), which operates the EZ-Rider bus system, has reported a 2.6% increase in fixed-route ridership in Midland. According to data released by MOUTD, the number of riders in December reached 10,257, marking the second time in three months that monthly ridership surpassed 10,000.

In comparison to Odessa, Midland saw nearly 15% more riders during December. The combined total for both cities was 21,505 riders for the month.

The City of Midland provides funding support for EZ-Rider operations.

Monthly figures show fluctuations over the past year. In October, fixed-route ridership in Midland peaked at 11,317 before dipping to 9,696 in November and then rising again in December. For paratransit services within Midland, ridership declined from 1,961 in October to 1,497 by December.

A breakdown of monthly fixed-route ridership between January and December shows that Midland consistently maintained higher numbers than Odessa across most months.
