Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has led the state since 2014 and was named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024, shared updates on education, border security, and women’s sports through a series of posts on his official X account.

On February 17, Abbott highlighted recent interest in school choice programs: “100,000+ Education Savings Account applications in two weeks proves what we’ve always known: Texas parents want options. Texas delivered real school choice. We’re empowering families and strengthening education across our state.” This message aligns with his administration’s stated priorities of enhancing education and parental empowerment in schooling.

The following day, Abbott addressed ongoing efforts to secure the southern border: “Texas has not stopped securing the border & arresting illegal smugglers. A Texas Dept. of Public Safety trooper uncovered a human‑smuggling operation in Kinney Co. after stopping a vehicle driven by a San Antonio woman. The woman was arrested for allegedly transporting four”. Border security remains one of the central focuses of Abbott’s office.

On February 19, Abbott acknowledged an endorsement from Riley Gaines regarding policies related to women’s sports: “Thank you for your endorsement @Riley_Gaines_! Working together, we will continue to protect Texas women by keeping men out of women’s sports and defending the values that make Texas the greatest state in the nation.”

According to information from the official website, Governor Abbott’s administration operates statewide from its primary offices in Austin at the State Insurance Building and emphasizes job creation, economic opportunities, protection of individual liberties, parental empowerment in education, and border security. Under his leadership, Texas has been recognized for jobs growth and record employment levels.
