Airline passenger numbers at Midland International Air & Space Port dropped in January due to severe winter weather. According to the City of Midland Airport officials, 45,136 passengers traveled through the airport last month, an 11.83% decrease compared to January 2025’s record figure of 51,190 and below January 2024’s total of 47,247. The airport was affected by a winter weather event that reduced the number of flights arriving and departing.
Over the first four months of the fiscal year, there have been 233,327 outbound airline passengers from Midland. This represents a decline of 5.96% compared to the same period in FY 2024-25 but remains above totals for FY 2023-24.
Despite these challenges, parking revenue at the airport showed some resilience. In January, parking revenue reached $670,182—a decrease from $717,964 in January 2025 but still higher than January 2024’s $656,079. For the fiscal year so far, parking revenue is up slightly by 0.14%, totaling $2,891,864 compared to $2,887,941 during the same period last year.
Among airlines serving Midland International in January, Southwest accounted for the largest share with more than half (43.2%) of passengers or about 19,099 travelers. United followed with a share of 31.1% (14,749 passengers), while American Eagle carried approximately 11,804 passengers.
