This week, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) hosted Maria Bartiromo in the Permian Basin to highlight the region’s role in U.S. energy production. A preview of their visit was broadcast on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News.

During the segment, Rep. Pfluger described the Permian Basin as the “crown jewel” of American energy and discussed challenges faced under President Biden’s administration.

“I think the most important thing to tell people about the Permian Basin is that we’ve never endured a harder cycle than the last four years, when we had a hostile administration, the Biden administration, that really wanted to kill this industry, that wanted to kill the crown jewel of energy production in the United States. And I took this personally as I represent the men and women who do this work. I mean, they drained the SPR for political reasons. They taxed natural gas. They magically found a number of endangered species, animals that people have never heard of. They attempted to impose overbearing air quality regulations. They attempted to impose a fracking ban, and they actually banned the export of LNG to our allies and our partners around the world,” said Rep. Pfluger.

Rep. Pfluger has represented Texas’ 11th district in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Mike Conaway. He won his seat by defeating Jon Mark Hogg in 2020 with nearly 80% of the vote.

The full interview is scheduled to air on Mornings with Maria.
