The Midland College golf team was the focus of a celebratory event on Thursday night at the Midland Country Club. Players, coaches, and supporters gathered to commemorate the program’s recent national championship with a ring ceremony and dinner.

According to a news release, the Chaps’ golf team is recognized as one of the most consistently successful athletic programs in Midland College history. The team was lauded for their accomplishments on the course and their sportsmanship and character off it. The evening included a social hour, dinner, and the presentation of the 2025 national championship rings.

The event saw participation from five returning members of the 2024–25 championship roster, current players, head coach Walt Williams and his family, as well as members of the Midland College Board of Trustees—G. Larry Lawrence, Adrian Carrasco, and Michael Oestmann—and college administration, alumni, and community supporters. Members of the championship-winning team included Benjamin Lund-Ravn, Bryce Womack, Harrison Sewell, Hunter Welch, Jayton Vaughn, Max Aalto, Reuben Harvey, Scott Spark, Todd Parker, and Trace Roger.

The release said that in attendance Thursday night were Welch, Vaughn, Harvey, Spark, and Roger. Their teammates participated in spirit from afar—Lund-Ravn from Denmark; Womack now competing for Texas State University; Aalto with North Central Texas College; Vaughn enrolled at Texas A&M University; and Parker pursuing his education in Florida. The ceremony celebrated past achievements while underscoring the ongoing legacy of excellence that defines Midland College golf on a national level.
