Airport passenger numbers at Midland International Air & Space Port for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025-26 remain among the highest in the city’s history, according to data released by the City of Midland. While there has been a decrease compared to last year’s record-setting figures, overall growth continues when compared with earlier years.
From October through December 2025, 188,191 passengers boarded flights operated by Southwest, American Eagle, and United at the airport. This represents a 4.44% decline from the same period in fiscal year 2024-25 but is still ahead of the first quarter total from FY 2023-24, which stood at 184,925 passengers—the second-highest figure on record for Midland.
Parking lot revenue for the current fiscal year’s first quarter reached $2.22 million, exceeding last year’s total by 2.38% and surpassing FY 2023-24 totals by more than 12%. In December alone, parking revenue amounted to $714,870.
Southwest Airlines accounted for just over half (50.6%) of all airline passengers in December. United carried 25.3%, while American Eagle served the remainder.
The City of Midland’s fiscal year begins each October and runs through September of the following year.
December passenger counts totaled 61,525 in 2025—a drop from both December 2024 (66,322) and nearly matching December 2023 (61,716).
