The Midland Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded it a 4-Star Accreditation.
The accreditation places the Midland Chamber among a select group of chambers nationwide. Fewer than 3% of chambers across the country have earned this recognition, and the Midland Chamber is one of only 40 accredited chambers in Texas, according to a Facebook post. “This recognition is a significant achievement,” the chamber said.
Accreditation is based on excellence in key areas such as governance, finance, advocacy, communications and member services. The process requires a rigorous review completed once every half-decade, according to the chamber’s Facebook post.
Chamber CEO and president Evan Thomas said that the accomplishment reflects both the strength of Midland’s business community and the leadership within the organization. “This accreditation reinforces our commitment to serving Midland with excellence and continuing to build a strong future for our region,” Thomas said, according to Facebook.
The chamber said that earning this level of accreditation demonstrates its ongoing efforts to meet high standards set by its national counterpart.
