Midland College has announced that it will hold tours of its Pre-K Academy on March 18, March 25, April 8, and April 25, 2025. The tours are scheduled from 4:30 to 5 p.m. and aim to give prospective parents and families a chance to visit the facility, meet staff members, and learn about programs available for three- and four-year-old children.
The Pre-K Academy at Midland College is open to children who turn three or four on or before September 1 of the academic year. The academy offers both a state-funded Pre-K option for qualifying families and accepts tuition-paying students at a rate of $700 per month.
“We recognize the growing need in our community for high-quality early childhood education,” said Shelly Haney, Associate Vice President of Early Childhood and Dean of Education at Midland College. “The Pre-K Academy at MC provides a supportive, family-centered environment where experienced, passionate educators focus on building strong foundations that prepare young learners for success in kindergarten and beyond.”
The academy uses an evidence-based curriculum approved by the state with an emphasis on individualized support and nurturing adult-child interactions. This aligns with Midland College’s broader commitment to providing access to quality education that supports long-term student achievement.
For working families, after-school care is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for an additional $250 per month; this service is included in tuition for those paying privately. All students receive breakfast, lunch, snacks each day, as well as school supplies. Families only need to provide a blanket for nap time and a backpack.
Families interested in enrolling their child are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming tours to learn more about eligibility requirements and required documents. Applications will be accepted starting April 1.
Programs like the Pre-K Academy are supported by funders and partners committed to early childhood education in Midland’s community.
