The Midland Veterans Partnership (MVP), together with the City of Midland, local television station KIMD (ABC 2), and KICKS radio (FM 99.1), will host the first Veterans Day Community Parade & Cookout on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event aims to celebrate and honor veterans through a parade, resource booths, and complimentary food for those attending.

According to organizers, the day’s activities will begin with a parade at 2 p.m., followed by a community cookout from 4 to 7 p.m. The parade will start at Bowie Elementary and proceed down “A” Street toward Midland High School. Road closures for the parade route are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Centennial Park area will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The parade line-up is set to form as early as 10 a.m. on B Street and Elk Avenue. A fly-over will mark the beginning of the parade at 2 p.m.

Afterward, Centennial Park will host a cookout featuring free hot dogs and food trucks stationed along Colorado Avenue until 7 p.m. Additional highlights include a special patriotic program with a crane-hoisted U.S. flag provided by TNT Crane, coordinated by Steve, and live trumpet performances of the national anthem and Taps by Gilbert Barela.

The event also includes vendors selling goods and organizations providing services for veterans at various resource booths.
