Midland Independent School District announced on April 1 that it has received Further Faster funding to advance its districtwide performance management system. The grant aims to accelerate school improvement and student outcomes across all campuses.
The initiative centers on the Performance Management Toolkit, developed through a partnership between Midland ISD and the ILO Group. This toolkit is designed to put into practice Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard’s vision for comprehensive school improvement throughout the district.
A central goal of the project is to ensure alignment among Leadership, Teaching & Learning, Student Services, and School Improvement departments so that systems and expectations are consistently applied at every campus. “This work reflects our commitment to building a cohesive system where every department and every campus is aligned to improve student outcomes. By strengthening how we monitor, support, and respond to performance, we are creating the conditions for sustained success across Midland ISD,” said Dr. Stephanie Howard, Superintendent of Midland ISD.
The Further Faster grant was awarded after a competitive selection process involving applicants from across Texas who demonstrated strong vision and innovation in their proposals. An ILO representative said, “We are thrilled to continue supporting Midland ISD’s work to advance its Strategic Plan. The Further Faster grant will deepen implementation through leadership development, targeted coaching, and stronger campus-level support, ensuring that the strategy shows up in practice in every school.” The representative added that this phase will help turn strategic goals into measurable results more quickly.
Looking ahead, Midland ISD remains focused on increasing the number of students attending A- or B-rated campuses as part of its North Star goal of ensuring all students graduate college-, career-, or military-ready.
