Midland joins regional partners for first Basin Action Day cleanup effort

The City of Midland will join several local entities in the first Basin Action Day on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The event is organized by the Basin Beautification Project and will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.

Other participants include Midland County, the City of Odessa, and Ector County. Residents of Midland are encouraged to register individually or as part of a team. Cleanup supplies such as safety vests, gloves, and trash bags will be provided for volunteers of all ages.

Basin Action Day will feature cleanup activities at various locations throughout the region. Additional events include a Midland County Trash Drop-Off Event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Midland County Road and Bridge facility located at 2435 E. Highway 80. Items accepted for disposal include oil (up to five gallons), tires (limit of 12), large trash items, batteries, prescriptions, and more.

Keep Midland Beautiful will also host Texas Recycles Day from 9 a.m. to noon at the Midland College Chap Center parking lot, accepting electronics and up to six tires per person.

A volunteer luncheon is scheduled for noon at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center. Similar activities are planned in Odessa and Ector County.
