Midland YMCA celebrated the grand opening of the new Northwest YMCA facility, located at 5549 Avalon Dr., on Wednesday.
According to a Facebook post by the non-profit organization, a drone flythrough video of the building was shared on October 15. To mark the occasion, the fee to join the Northwest YMCA was waived for the entire day. “From cutting-edge wellness features to family-friendly amenities — see what’s waiting for you,” the YMCA said.
YMCA team members spent the day giving tours and answering questions as visitors experienced the future of fitness and community in Midland, the post said.
A day prior, an open house event allowed people to view interactive demonstrations of its new wellness features. Charter membership applications are being accepted, which include access to both the Northwest and Downtown Midland YMCA facilities. Group exercise classes are set to begin on Monday, with Parent’s Day Out & Parent’s Night Out starting next month. An on-site after-school program is planned for future implementation.
In another Facebook post, the YMCA announced that it is collaborating with Simply to offer IV Therapy and Wellness Injections exclusively to its members. The post said that special member pricing will begin on October 22. No appointments for the injections, which are available on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., are necessary. Payments are to be made to Simply at the time of service, according to the post.
The Northwest YMCA is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
