On Sunday, March 8, at 1 p.m., former Permian High School standout Cooper Golden’s current college team, the McNeese State Cowboys, lost 3-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Houston Christian Huskies.
The game took place at Joe Miller Ballpark. This was their third matchup against the Huskies this season. In their previous game on Saturday, March 7, the Cowboys lost 12 to 4.
Golden allowed two earned runs over five innings, recording two walks and five strikeouts.
The Cowboys’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at M. L. Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park against Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.
