A 4-2 victory over the Arkansas Travelers Saturday at Momentum Bank Ballpark gave the Midland RockHounds a clean sweep to start their 2026 season.
The team secured the sweep with a 4-2 victory, marking a strong start to the new season. The win capped a three-game stretch in which the RockHounds posted 29 hits, according to the official box score.
Joshua Kuroda-Grauer contributed two of Midland’s six hits in the concluding matchup against Arkansas. In the fifth inning, Kuroda-Grauer launched his first home run of the season to push the RockHounds ahead, 4-2. J.J. Goss recorded his first win after delivering three strikeouts and no runs in 3.1 innings of action while Shohei Tomioka was credited a save according to the official box score.
The RockHounds jumped to a strong 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Ryan Lasko and Cole Conn contributed RBI doubles to add to Tommy White’s RBI single in the first. Arkansas, however, severed Midland’s advantage to 3-2 in the fourth according to game statistics.
In Friday’s game, a five-run rally in the ninth helped Midland overcome a game-long 4-0 deficit. Diego Barrera earned a win after stymying the Travelers bats in the top of the ninth. After bringing themselves within a run of Arkansas, Clark Elliott knocked a walk-off RBI single that scored Leo De Vries and Colby Halter. Midland is scheduled for a visit to North Texas where they will face the Frisco RoughRiders. The first game of that weeklong series is on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m., according to league records.
