The Midland RockHounds announced Friday that several current and former players will compete in Major League Baseball’s third annual Spring Breakout.
The announcement was made in a congratulatory Facebook post by the RockHounds, who are the Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Athletics organization. According to the post, active RockHounds named to the Athletics’ Spring Breakout roster include pitchers Corey Avant, Henry Baez, Gage Jump and Wei-En Lin; catcher Cole Conn; infielders Leo De Vries, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer and Tommy White; and outfielder Nate Nankil. De Vries is currently among MLB’s top four prospects, according to the league. Alumni participants from the RockHounds include Henry Baez, Gunnar Hoglund, Kade Morris, Braden Nett, Chen Zhong-Ao Zhuang, Colby Halter, Luke Mann, Drew Swift, Henry Bolte and Junior Perez according to a Facebook post by the Midland RockHounds.
The Athletics will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in their Spring Breakout game at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. The game is set for March 22 at 3:05 p.m. Central Time. Fans can watch live coverage on Amazon MLB FAST Channel, MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB.TV or through the MLB app according to Major League Baseball.
Spring Breakout provides an opportunity for fans and scouts to observe up-and-coming players from across minor league affiliates as they compete on a larger stage. The inclusion of both current roster members and alumni reflects ongoing development within the RockHounds program.
“Congratulations to all the current and former RockHounds players that were named to the 2026 Spring Breakout roster,” the Midland RockHounds said on Facebook.
