The Scharbauer Foundation, Inc. is marking the ongoing success of the Midland College Pre-K Academy and Center for Teaching Excellence, three years after initiating the construction of this educational facility.
According to a recent social media post by the Midland-based foundation, the project has played a significant role in strengthening the community through investments in early childhood education and teacher preparation. Education has been a key focus of the Scharbauer Foundation’s mission, and the 60,000-square-foot facility exemplifies this commitment. The center has not only increased the number of available preschool seats in Midland but also created important opportunities for Midland College students pursuing careers in education. Its dual-purpose design allows young learners and aspiring educators to learn together in an environment that integrates early learning with professional training.
In a statement shared on Midland College’s Facebook page, college officials expressed their gratitude for the foundation’s support: “We are incredibly grateful for the Scharbauer Foundation’s continued investment in early childhood education and educator preparation at Midland College. Their incredible support helped make this vision a reality — a space where young learners and future teachers grow side-by-side every day.”
The facility continues to serve local families and education students, with some spots still available for 3- and 4-year-olds interested in joining the Pre-K Academy at Midland College. The Scharbauer Foundation’s sustained focus on education highlights its broader goal of strengthening the community from its youngest members upwards.
