Security measures to be implemented before next Midland City Council meeting

The City of Midland announced on March 20 that new security measures, including security wanding, will be in place at the next Midland City Council meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, inside the Council Chamber at Midland City Hall, located at 300 N. Loraine St.

The city said these steps are being taken to ensure safety during council meetings and recommends that attendees arrive early to participate in the security process. In addition, anyone wishing to address the council must complete a Request to Speak form and submit it to the City Secretary before the open meeting is called to order. Forms submitted after the start of the meeting will not reach the mayor but will be filed.
