Texas Anti-Gang Center – Permian Basin reports Q2 results

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday that the Texas Anti-Gang Center – Permian Basin has completed its second fiscal quarter of operations, which was from Dec. 1, 2025, to Feb. 28, 2026.

The update marks the continuation of the center’s first full year since expanding operations in the region. The Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center is a regional, multidisciplinary collaboration including the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, Midland Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Drug Enforcement Administration. This second quarter marks the continuation of its first full year of expanded operations in the Permian Basin according to the City of Midland.

According to a Facebook post shared by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, “the TAG Center recorded 146 felony arrests and 40 misdemeanor arrests targeting five gangs.” The post also said that “aside from the 186 arrests, the TAG Center seized 58 weapons in addition to approximately 93 pounds of cocaine, 99 pounds of fentanyl, 13 pounds of methamphetamine, 16 pounds of marijuana, seven pounds of THC, more than a pound of psilocybin and $125,401 in U.S. currency. Two fugitives in an Ector County homicide case were also apprehended” according to MCSO.

The report highlights ongoing efforts by local and federal law enforcement agencies to address gang activity and related crimes in West Texas.
