Midland International Air & Space Port and IDEMIA announced on March 10 that they will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event in April, offering travelers the opportunity to enroll in the expedited security program. The event will take place at 9506 La Force Blvd, Midland, Texas, with appointments available from April 21 to April 24 on a first-come, first-served basis.

The TSA PreCheck program is designed to provide low-risk travelers with a faster and more convenient experience at airport security checkpoints. U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents can apply online, schedule an appointment for in-person enrollment at the airport, and complete fingerprinting and photo capture for a background check. Most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number within three to five days after completing the process. The application fee is $76.75 and covers five years of participation if approved.

According to the announcement, TSA PreCheck offers several benefits including access to dedicated screening lanes at over 200 U.S. airports, reduced wait times—often less than five minutes—and allows children under 17 to accompany enrolled parents or guardians without additional cost. Enrolled passengers are not required to remove shoes, laptops, liquids in compliance with the 3-1-1 rule, belts or light jackets during screening.

The City of Midland emphasizes values such as excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusivity to promote community unity and prosperity according to its official website. The city maintains more than 1,364 acres of parkland that includes neighborhood parks, community centers, pools, and sports complexes according to its official website.
